French Curriculum

Beginner level:

For those with no prior exposure to French. The beginner level lays a solid groundwork in the French language. Focused on communication, it will get you speaking French from the very first day. Authentic situations, exercises and role-playing introduce you to the basic structures and usage of the language. At the end of the beginner level course, you will be conversant in everyday social and work situations.

In this course you will:

Learn the foundation of the French grammar

Learn basic vocabulary

Develop your oral skills

This module is designed to be completed in at least 20 hours of private sessions or 30 hours of group sessions. Exam will be given on the final session.

Intermediate level:

Intermediate course continue to reinforce both oral and written communication skills. At the end of the intermediate level you will have reached a good command of the language.

In this course you will:

Learn to express your opinions and points of view

Review grammar points in context

Participate in discussions around topics of interest to you

Broaden your vocabulary

Improve your listening comprehension skills

Summarize and discuss a short text

Work on improving your pronunciation

Improve your reading comprehension

Expand your knowledge of French history, culture and society

Advanced Level:

Advanced course is a solid reinforcement of conversational skills. You will learn how to correctly apply the grammar rules learned. At the end of this class, you will be proficient in spoken French.

Learn to clearly express your opinions and defend your points of view

Review grammar points in context

Lead a discussion around a topic of interest to you

Broaden your vocabulary in specific themes and areas

Develop your listening comprehension skills

Improve your reading comprehension

Become skilled at summarizing and discussing a text or film plot

Refine your pronunciation

Discriminate between nuances of meaning

Expand your knowledge of French history, culture and society

This module is designed to be completed in at least 20 hours of private session or 30 hours of group sessions. Exam will be given on the final session.
